Welcome

Welcome to the West Bountiful 3rd Ward Family Preparedness blog. This blog is intended to assist the WB3 Ward members to be physically AND spiritually prepared.

Family Well-Being

As the Church is a world wide Church, the family preparedness recommendations at lds.org must be general in scope because the needs of members in the various parts of the vineyard differ. If the Church addresses the family preparedness requirements of only members in Utah, that counsel may not adequately satisfy the concerns of a member in Ghana. The available resources alone between Utah and Ghana require different approaches.

That said, the goal of this blog is to be as specific as possible, to meet the needs of our ward members in the shadow of Temple Square. When visiting this blog, please review the categories on the right (this post will always be the first one you see when you open the blog). These categories will assist you in finding specifically what you need. Some of the posts are articles in progress, meaning they are always growing as new ideas are added. The 72 Hour Kit post is a good example.

Also, there are polls on the right side as well. The object of the polls is to get a pulse of the ward and where our efforts should focus.

And please feel free to contribute and help this resource grow. If you have a talent, skill, information or experience with family preparedness and would like to post it, please contact us here.

During 2012, every 5th Sunday, the combined Relief Society and Priesthood meeting will focus on family preparedness. Each meeting will be facilitated by an organization and an area of family preparedness has been assigned. The hope is that each family will focus on the theme during the following months.

On the right hand side of the blog, there are two columns.

The left column contains the various categories regarding family preparedness.

The right column contains a series of polls. The polls are designed for you (and the ward) to track your personal preparedness.  Please take the time to mark where you are. The poll is anonymous, no record is made of who has indicated where they are. However, by marking the poll, we can determine what needs are in the ward and where to focus our energy.

Mosiah 4:27
And see that all these things are done in wisdom and order; for it is not requisite that a man should run faster then he has strength. And again, it is expedient that he should be diligent, that thereby he might win the prize; therefore, all things must be done in order.
